A pioneering partnership between GetBEE and Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) is transforming the face of healthcare in Dubai. On the 30th of January 2019, during Arab Health, GetBEE CEO Thea Myhrvold and the DHCC CEO Dr. Ramadan AlBlooshi officialized the partnership that will now offer a regulated and groundbreaking Telehealth platform for doctors and patients in the free zone.
The GetBEE solution has revolutionized communication in different businesses, education and now the healthcare sector. The need for expediency, effortlessness and security within a structured system has been a cogent force for the creation of a sustainable platform for the delivery of online medical consultation and management.
Enter Telehealth, which the World Health Organization defines as “the use of telecommunications and virtual technology to deliver health care outside of traditional health care facilities.” In fact, it is one of the most important elements of eHealth, which utilizes Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for health. The use of Telehealth has proven to increase health care access, create cost savings and make the health care sector more resilient.
Aligning with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai’s Fifty-Year charter which mandates “A Doctor to Every Citizen,” citizens now have 24/7 access to doctors, specialists and medical consultants through government applications. Omar Oumeish, Executive Director of Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) , states “With the new Telehealth platform, DHCC is expanding the reach of highly-qualified physicians and specialists from the free zone globally - irrespective of the location of the patient” (“DHCC,” 2019).
The GetBEE solution connects patients through video conferencing, allowing them live consultations with a medical professional, all without leaving the comfort of their homes. It permits doctors to perform Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and provides medical advice from their offices. Offering ease and expediency, GetBEE provides both parties with optimal service.
Our CEO, Thea Myhrvold, is proud to officialize this initiative to bring affordable, accessible and quality healthcare to the UAE. Izabella Naessa, Head of Business Development of GetBEE, believes that this partnership will place GetBEE as an important player in the e-Health market while opening new opportunities for innovation in the region.
GetBEE continues to expand our global reach through projects and partnerships that combine innovation and social impact.
